Abraham votes for border wall funding
WASHINGTON - Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, today voted for the government spending bill after Congressional leaders included $5.7 billion in funding for a wall along the US-Mexico border.
Dr. Abraham had withheld his support for the spending bill, commonly called the CR for "continuing resolution," until Congressional leaders agreed to include the wall funding.
“A border wall is vital to our national security to stem the flow of illegal immigrants, drug dealers, human traffickers and potential terrorists. The people have demanded it, and Republicans in Congress are working with President Trump to deliver it. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to approve this request to secure our border and keep our government open,” Dr. Abraham said.
Dr. Abraham has been an ardent fighter for the border wall. He is also a cosponsor of H.R. 7059, the Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act, introduced by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
