West Monroe has landed a $1 million Delta Regional Authority grant to upgrade the infrastructure at its signature commercial park anchored by the Ike Hamilton Exposition Center.

"It's a huge win for West Monroe for a project that will set the stage to attract even more economic development opportunities to the park," West Monroe Mayor Staci Albritton said.

The city secured the lion's share of $1.4 million in grants announced by the Delta Regional Authority, which was created by Congress in 2000 to invest in economic development projects in eight Delta states encompassing 252 counties and parishes.

“West Monroe is going to benefit from $1 million in federal funds that will allow the commercial park to continue to grow and create new jobs,” said Congressman Ralph Abraham, R-Alto. “This is a huge infrastructure investment in the community."
