Traffic restricted on levee; Abraham gets view from air

5th District U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham, R-Alto, got a bird's-eye view of the rising river Tuesday in a helicopter tour with Col. John Cross, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Vicksburg District.
"I'm very much concerned," Abraham said. "From what I saw today there are many camps and houses in peril on the river side of the levee."
Abraham expressed confidence in the corps' ability, citing its work during the Great Flood of 2011 when the Mississippi reached an all-time high of 57.1 feet at Vicksburg.
