Shreveport, La. - The recent budget agreement in Washington D.C increases the military's budget.
Money will go to Barksdale Air Force Base to upgrade B-52 bombers and increase the troop size at Folk Polk.
Congressman Ralph Abraham said he supports giving a 2.4-percent pay raise to troops.
"I would have a very hard-time looking into the eyes of a young soldier and asking he or she to literally give their lives sometime for me if i don't fund them for what they need. We did give them a pay raise which is way overdue and I wish we could them a lot more," said Rep. Ralph Abraham, (R) La 5th District.
