Rep. Abraham demands LSU med school stay put
Congressman Ralph Abraham, R-Alto, has sent a letter to Gov. John Bel Edwards asking him to guarantee the LSU medical school in Shreveport won't be moved under a potential new partnership with Ochsner Health System.
The LSU Board of Supervisors is set to consider the potential partnership that would have Ochsner take over the state's safety net hospitals in Monroe and Shreveport from current operator BRF at its meeting Friday in New Orleans.
University Health Conway in Monroe and University Health in Shreveport operate in conjunction with LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport.
