Holly Ridge students are heading to D.C.
Students at Holly Ridge are preparing for the trip of a lifetime. They're heading to Washington D.C. in May.
It started as a humble act of kindness, paying tribute to a fallen alum. Students dedicated the highway in front of the school to James “Terry” Watson, a DEA agent killed in Colombia in 2013. Congressman Ralph Abraham was at the dedication ceremony and invited the kids to D.C.
53 sixth graders and BETA Club members are taking the trip. BETA Club sponsor Amanda Morgan said, "To get to go to Washington is just an amazing thing because a lot of our kids will never get this chance again."
