Congressman implores Tioga High students to be informed
Students talked foreign policy, national debt and the upcoming presidential election with a U.S. congressman visiting Tioga High School Wednesday.
Several history classes joined JROTC cadets to hear from Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, talk about issues facing the country, from ISIS to the $19 trillion national debt. He wanted students to understand these issues are affecting them.

He urged students, 18 or not, to become informed about local, state and world events.
"One thing I'll implore you to do ... is to become very much engaged not only socially, but locally on news issues, state issues and national issues," especially as more of their generation of Millennials are expected to turn out for the presidential election in November, he said.
