Congressman administers in-flight aid to passenger

Fifth District U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham, who is also a practicing physician, was called upon to treat a medical emergency on his flight back from Washington Thursday.
Abraham, R-Alto, said a young military veteran began complaining of feeling weak on the flight from Washington to Atlanta.
“When I looked at him he was as white as a sheet,” the congressman said.
Abraham said the man then fainted and the doctor turned congressman began administering aid.
“It wasn’t a heart attack, and it turned out fine, but I was glad I was there,” he said.
