Congressman Abraham pushing the USDA to help soybean farmers store their harvest amidst trade war
Trade wars with China and wet weather will soon have an impact on farmers here in the ArkLaMiss.
Congressman Ralph Abraham is pushing the USDA to provide assistance for soybean farmers to find a place to store their harvest until it can be brought to market. Trade negotiations with china have shutdown usual trading of soybeans. This means the soybeans that usually head to a west coast port are now heading down the Mississippi River for South America.
The congressman says this is an issue that needs to be solved now. Congressman Abraham says "So, it's an issue. If these farmers don't harvest theses beans in the next week or two or three at the most, they can literally go bankrupt."
