Abraham announces $53,000 for West Carroll law enforcement district
Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, today announced at the West Carroll Parish Law Enforcement District will receive nearly $53,000 in federal funds to buy two fully-equipped police vehicles.
The grant comes from the US Department of Agriculture’s Community Facilities Grant Program. The grant will cover most of the $71,000 project. The law enforcement district will cover the rest, about $17,700.
“Our law enforcement officers do so much to keep our communities safe, so it is important that they have the resources they need to keep up their good work. I appreciate Sec. Sonny Perdue and the USDA for awarding these funds to West Carroll Parish,” Dr. Abraham said.
This is the second grant since June that the USDA has awarded to West Carroll Parish law enforcement agencies. The Town of Oak Grove received $50,000 in June to purchase two police vehicles and equipment.
